Hi everyone!
To help you get ready for this week's test, I have prepared this post.
INTERACTION
We interact with the world around us (we see, smell, taste, move, feel, talk, comunicate...). To help us through this process of interaction, we need some body systems.
THE FIVE SENSES AND THE NERVOUS SYSTEM
We receive information from the five senses about what we hear, see, smell, touch and taste.
This information is sent to the brain (the nerves carry the message).
Finally, the brain sends instructions to the locomotor system.
* The brain is the main organ in the nervous system. It controls everything that we do.
It allows us to move and bend. It is made up of the bones, muscles and joints.
Bones are hard and rigid. They help us to protect our main organs and they support our body and give it its shape. The human body is made up of 206 bones.
Muscles are soft and elastic. There are more than 600 muscles in our body.
Bones and muscles work together at the joints to help our body to bend and move.
Can you locate theses bones and muscles?
BONES: skull, spine, ribs. humerus, femur
MUSCLES: abdominal muscles, pectoral muscles, quadriceps, biceps, calf muscles.
These are the joints in our body:

REPRODUCTION
Humans reproduce to make more living things of the same type.
In this process (over 9 months) an egg becomes fertilised by a sperm and grows into a baby.
1. Fertilised egg
2. Embryo (6 weeks the size of a small seed).
3. Fetus (at 9 weeks, it is the size of an olive).
4. At 3 months it has all the organs (it is the size of an avocado).
5. At 9 months, a baby is born.
MALE AND FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEMS
I hope you find this information useful.
Don't forget to ask if you have any doubts or you don't understand anything.
See you all in class!
Love,
Maite
